BUTTONHOLES

Our Buttonholes are made using a brooch pin, (no need to use unsightly pins) and are very easy for the men to use.  We do have magnets for people who request them.  Most Buttonholes are made with the white Dendrobium orchid ( Singapore Orchid) as pictured below as they seem to fit in with most Bridal bouquet flowers, e.g. orchids, lillies etc.  The correct way to pin a Buttonhole on is upside down, however the trend these days is to have them the right way up.

The Red Rose Buttonhole looks great trimmed with dodder vine.  Although we prefer our Brides to use our magnificent tropical flowers , we can cater to their needs if they prefer roses.  The main problem with using any southern flowers up here in Port Douglas is that we have no control over the supply.  We experience all kinds of difficulties, the grower / wholesaler forgets to send the order (this happens frequently and "sorry" is a very common word used these days), the grower / wholesaler finds that due to the weather he is unable to supply the order, but forgets to let you know until it is too late to do anything about it, the airline offloads the boxes in either Sydney or Brisbane, and then they are left out in all kinds of weather  waiting for the next plane, no apology here! Or worst of all the flowers arrive in such a poor condition that they are unusable.

So you can see why we encourage the use of our magnificent tropical flowers...after all you are in the tropics, and that must be part of the reason why you are getting married here.......everything tropical!
